AI, or Artificial Intelligence, refers to the development of computer systems and algorithms that can perform tasks typically requiring human intelligence. These tasks include problem-solving, learning, reasoning, understanding natural language, recognizing patterns, and making decisions. AI systems aim to simulate or replicate human cognitive functions, such as perception, reasoning, problem-solving, and learning, to varying degrees.
AI can be categorized into two main types:

Narrow or Weak AI: This type of AI is designed to perform a specific task or a set of closely related tasks. It is also known as specialized or applied AI. Examples of narrow AI include virtual personal assistants like Siri or Alexa, recommendation algorithms used by streaming services, and image recognition software.

General or Strong AI: General AI refers to a level of artificial intelligence that possesses human-like intelligence and can understand, learn, and apply knowledge across a wide range of tasks, just like a human being. This level of AI has the capability to perform any intellectual task that a human can. However, true general AI remains a theoretical concept and has not been achieved as of my last knowledge update in September 2021.
